Watching the Waves

The sea called me, again,
Today.
So I came.
I found that rock
We called our comfortable place,
It welcomes me like
An old familiar sofa.
In the waves
I can hear your voice
With those sweet soothing words
You always shared
At the right time.
The wind caresses me
And I remember those things
Your gentle embrace did
To me.
I’m sitting on our rock
And
All our memories
Are coming back
To me
Just like the waves
Rushing to greet the shore.
With eyes closed
I give myself permission
To surrender,
To get lost
In your memories,
Again.
I opened my eyes after
What seems to be an eternity
And the moon peaks at me
From behind a blanket of clouds.
I love the way its rays
Kisses the rough waves softly.
I smile in appreciation
As I recall the sensations
Of your lips speaking to mine.
The sea called me again,
Today,
So here I am in the company
Of your never-ending memories.
