With You: A Poem Celebrating The Beauty of Companionship

As long as I’m with You

with You
Lovers in a Park

I can walk through
Life’s valleys and dark places
Without fear,

As long as I’m with you
I don’t mind.

I can be alone
And watch time pass by
Without any care in the world,

As long as I’m with you.

The naysayers and critics
Can hate me and say whatever
They want,

As long as I can hear your words
Of complement and encouragement
I don’t give a damn!

I don’t mind walking in
The frigid weather,

As long as I have your love
To keep me warm
Whenever I am cold
I will be ok.

I know as long as I’m with you
I’ll always have a safe place to stay
And for that I am grateful.
