A Coffee Smile
It was obvious from
The pace of our steps that
We were both prisoners
Of our busy schedule.
With rationed time to spare,
Your business folder in one hand
And a cup of steaming Joe
In the other,
You offered me a breath-taking smile
As your path crossed mine,
I couldn’t help but wonder
What could have been
If only we weren’t prisoners
Of the cooperate time machine.
I don’t know much about you
But what I know is
We share a love for coffee
And your smile is just as warm
And refreshing as the stream,
Dancing on the lid
Of my coffee cup.
