Our Fathers
our fathers
who are partially responsible
for us being here.
today, we can honour
and show respect
for those countless
and
unseen sacrifices you’ve
made for our gains.
forgive us this day
our daily judgments of you
and pardon us for
our consistent rudeness
and ingratitude.
as we raise our sons and daughters
may we recognise
the good examples we set,
carries more weight than
the advice we give.
may we avoid
your pitfalls in parenting
and strive
to be better fathers
to our children.
may we be prudent enough
to self-correct
and to forgive their wrongdoings
with love and affection.
